Inline Laboratory Homogenizer

A separate high-pressure homogenizing unit for continuous emulsification and particle-size reduction in liquid food research, with adjustable pressure and integration into a laboratory thermal route.

Where the product is processed

The pumping mechanism forces the formulation through the homogenizing valve under pressure. The pressure drop and local mechanical action break down dispersed droplets or particles. The photographed unit gives access to the homogenizing head and its connections above a compact frame, rather than enclosing the whole product path inside the thermal unit.

Pressure and number of stages

The manufacturer lists two-stage homogenization and an adjustable pressure range. The effective pressure setting, stage distribution and actual flow belong in the trial record. A maximum pressure is a mechanical capability; it does not predict particle size, emulsion stability or sensory quality for an untested recipe.

Connecting to thermal processing

Position the unit according to the intended treatment sequence and the product temperature it will receive. Upstream and downstream pressures, inlet conditions and the outlet connection need to fit the thermal route. An aseptic downstream arrangement needs its own configuration and preparation; a standalone homogenizer is not automatically an aseptic homogenizer.

Product contact and maintenance

The catalogue specifies SS316L product-contact material and a CIP/SIP-capable configuration. The homogenizing valve, seals and product connections remain inspection points. Cleaning parameters and reassembly follow the supplied equipment instructions, while the supporting frame provides physical access for service.

Selecting a research configuration

This unit is relevant to dairy emulsions, plant-based formulations and suitable liquid food dispersions. Use the actual feed particle size and product behaviour to select the head and operating conditions. Allow for the product held in the unit and the changeover material when planning a small-sample trial. The quoted configuration defines the connection and control integration.
